about

Antiquities is a reflection of and a thank you letter to all the music that I’ve listened to in my first 18 years. My ear has been inherently shaped by everything it has heard, and it was important to me to create an album that pays homage to the musical influences on my life so far. So much of music today is progressive and experimental, which is a good thing, because like all art, music needs to evolve to prevent stagnancy and mundanity. However, it’s equally important to reexamine and recontextualize music from the past. Antiquities is an expression of gratitude to the music that has influenced me, and in turn, I hope one day it will inspire another musician's work.

This album is dedicated to my parents, Craig Etlin and Erin Gordon. Thank you for being my biggest fans, role models, and for raising me on great music. This album would not have been possible without your endless love and support, for which I am eternally grateful.

Thank You To...
My teacher and mentor Garth Applegate; my mentor and friend Matt Martians; The Internet; The Stanford Jazz Workshop and Institute; Chris Detrick and The Marin Academy Music Program; Max Williams; Jacob Young; Sam Hopkins; Claire Madsen; Emily Etlin; Alan Gordon; Sheila Gordon; Aimee Gordon; Stuart Etlin; Layne Ulrich; Hannah Pedersen; Will O’Hara; Julian Lasher; Sebastian Melrose; Erin Tadena and Laughing Tiger Studios.
